I personally don't have a tattoo. It's not that I'm against them - I've often played with the temporary versions that wipe off with a little rubbing alcohol. In fact, I've given out tattoos with library logos to kids at community fairs, and helped several 20-somethings plaster their arms and chests (the guys, anyway) with those very same tattoos. No, the reason I don't have a tattoo is, I'm too fickle. I'm afraid I'll decide on one design, then immediately regret that decision. And then what? They are, after all, a pretty permanent part of your life.
Another pretty permanent part of my life? Books. Can't live without them, and if you read my blog I'm guessing you can't either. So when I discovered a series of Pinterest pages highlighting book tattoos - well, I was fascinated. Check out these pins from Random House.
Before my parents freak out, I should say I don't have one of these (yet). If you're signing up for my next writing class, I won't be sporting any ink. But I have to say, if there's any way to show how important writing and words are in your life - this could be it. So for those of you out there brainstorming how to celebrate writing in the new year, a picture can paint a thousand words - and words apparently can paint a thousand pictures.
