For all of you writers out there like me - you know who you are, you're the ones with the alphabetized medicine cabinets - don't worry, there is a solution. Find a writing partner.
Having someone to write with has made a huge difference in my productivity. Someone is waiting to read my next chapter. If I didn't write it, I need to explain why not. And not finishing it because Lifetime was playing a Project Runway marathon is not going to cut it.
But keeping you on track isn't the only advantage to having a writing partner. You can bounce ideas of your partner, get honest feedback, have a built-in editor, and a built-in support system. You don't have to necessarily work on the same project, or even in the same genre. All you need to do is promise to be there for each other.
Join the conversation on writing partners at my next writing workshop that I'm doing with - you guessed it - my writing partner. The Good, the Bad, and the Funny: A Writing Partnership Exposed will take place Saturday, September 20, 10:30am-1:30pm in Portland. Sign up through the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance.
See you there! And, until then, keep writing!
